With more than 215 stations and about 2,600 rental bikes, StadtRAD records some 3 million bike journeys annually.

The iconic red bikes are eco-friendly and help reduce noise emissions on the streets. Hugely popular among locals and guests alike, the bikes have become an integral part of city life. StadtRAD lets you explore the city from a different angle and provides attractive opportunities for green-minded commuters as bikes can be seamlessly combined with local public transport. In terms of their ecological footprint, up to 3.4 tonnes of CO2 can be saved per person per year compared with cars. Now isn’t that a clean offer?!

StadtRAD is Germany’s most successful rental bike system and is pioneering with the recent launch of 20 cargo pedelecs. With these, you can comfortably transport yourself, your little ones, or your grocery shopping. Just remember to return it to the original station. The new StadtRAD bikes were launched on 1 February 2019.

The new StadtRAD bikes are real fast movers – equipped with 26‘‘ wheels, a Shimano Nexus 7-gear hub and a saddle that can be adjusted with even more ease. They are checked and maintained at regular intervals, but if you happen to find any fault before or during your journey you can report the issue via the app or by calling +49 40 8221 8810-0.
